Why VPS is better than shared and reseller hosting?

Tuesday, September 6th, 2011

There are several reasons why VPS is better then shared and reseller hosting. The first reason is the resources. The resources with VPS hosting are a separate memory and disk space so a person has the ability to keep up with their websites better. Plus this type of hosting has all of the tools that a person would need to order to build their website. There is no limit to what you can do with VPS hosting, which is definitely not the case with shared hosting. With shared hosting, there are only a limited amount of resources that you can use.

The second reason is special tools. This means that VPS hosting can meet all of a person’s needs when it comes to building their website. These needs could include a virtual network, heavy traffic, or database applications. But with a shared hosting programs, they only have a minimal amount of memory that they will let you use. Therefore, it will probably not be able to handle everything like it is suppose to. The VPS hosting has the framework, email server, and many other things that a person will need to build their website.

The third reason is security. There are a lot more security features with VPS hosting. Therefore, you will have a lot more privacy than if you were using the shared hosting. The shared hosting puts a limit on the amount of the security that your website will have. Therefore, if you happen to get a virus on one of your files with the shared hosting, then all of your files will be corrupted. In VPS hosting, you can choose the amount of security that you want for a particular website like firewalls, administrative rights, and certain operating systems that you want to use.

The fourth reason is termination. If you want to suspense your account with the VPS hosting program, you will have that option. Therefore, you can choose how long that you want to use their hosting program. But if you are using the shared hosting programs, if they see something that don’t like, then they will suspend your account. This usually happens when the company tells you that you can use as many resources as you need to. More than likely, this will not be the case and they will terminate your account if you keep using more resources than they think that you should.

The fifth reason is the usability. The VPS hosting program is a lot easier to use than some of the shared hosting programs. There is a tool within the program that allows you to restart, troubleshoot, or restart the program at any time without having to ask for help. You can backup any of your files that way if you have to restart the program you will not lose any of your information. You might have to restart if you have caught a virus or something like that.

These are the top five reasons why the VPS hosting program is better than the shared or reseller hosting.

Add into the fact that we offer three different VPS packages, which is something that other companies are not offering. We give you more choices that are going to allow you to make sure that you are going to be happy with the decision that you are making.

These three options are the 512, 1024, and 2048 plans. Another factor that puts the VPS hosting package above the rest is the fact that there is a huge amount of bandwidth and disk space provided to those who are consumers with the company. Those that get the introductory package (512) they are going to get 30 GB of disk space and 350 GB of bandwidth. The 1024 plan offers 60 GB of disk space and 750 GB of bandwidth. (more…)

Why server monitoring is a must for a customer centric hosting firm?

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

We live in a day where servers are in numbers close to desktops. Every other person we meet have one or two websites or blogs. And these websites and blogs are placed inside servers which run operating systems like the popular linux based or windows servers. Servers manage a lot of tasks. They handle numerous services, jobs and applications inside them.
